About Xionia and its divisions

You’re welcome to use these descriptions as they are.

Xionia

Xionia Ltd is a UK creative technology company, founded in 2026 and registered in England and Wales. It starts from first principles, combines creative vision with deep engineering, and builds complete solutions that are as dependable as they are original. Xionia has three divisions. Xionia Audio makes premium software synthesizers, Xionia Studios makes games, interactive experiences and apps, and Xionia Labs carries out research in artificial intelligence. Its founder and CEO is Stephen Ankelen.

Xionia Audio

Xionia Audio, the pro audio division of Xionia Ltd, makes premium software synthesizers for musicians, producers and sound designers. Its seven stars are complete instruments, each built around a synthesis engine of its own, from virtual analog and wavetable to physical modelling and mathematics. StarShaper, its flagship, is the instrument creator that brings all seven together. Every Xionia Audio instrument is built on one architecture, Xionia Core, with Motion Waves on every supported parameter.

Xionia Studios

Xionia Studios, the creative studio of Xionia Ltd, applies next-generation technology to the creative arts. It makes games and interactive entertainment, experiences for calm, focus and flow, and apps for businesses and consumers, built with Xionia Audio’s synthesis engines and Xionia Labs’ research. Its first project is Carbon Rain: The Sky Answers, a space shooter whose alien swarm shares one battlefield mind.

Xionia Labs

Xionia Labs, the research division of Xionia Ltd, carries out research and development in artificial intelligence for every Xionia division. Its two research programmes are music and human creativity, into AI that deepens the experience of making music, and Xionia Intelligence, into AI that understands how an instrument makes its sound.
