Xionia is a UK creative technology company. We start from first principles, combine creative vision with deep engineering, and build complete solutions that are as dependable as they are original.
Who we are
Everything we make is grounded in research, crafted with precision, and designed so people stay firmly in control.
We start with our own products. Xionia Audio makes premium software synthesizers, Xionia Studios makes games, interactive experiences and apps, and Xionia Labs carries out research in artificial intelligence for every Xionia division.
Xionia Ltd was founded in 2026 and is registered in England and Wales.
Our founder
Our founder, Stephen Ankelen, is a hands-on technical director and senior developer with more than 30 years’ experience building production software. His background includes enterprise software engineering for aerospace, extensive work integrating AI into real-world systems, and a long history in music technology and audio engineering. He continues to design and code our products himself, as part of a team of experienced senior developers.
Xionia Labs publishes his research vision, “The future of music technology is human.”

Research and development in artificial intelligence for every Xionia division, from AI that keeps people making music to models that understand how instruments make sound.
