Xionia is a UK creative technology company. We start from first principles, combine creative vision with deep engineering, and build complete solutions that are as dependable as they are original. Today we’re introducing our three divisions and their first work.
Xionia Audio
Xionia Audio makes premium software synthesizers for musicians, producers and sound designers. Its seven stars are complete instruments, each built around a synthesis engine of its own, and StarShaper, its flagship, is the instrument creator that brings all seven together. The Plasma Star is the first to arrive.
Xionia Studios
Xionia Studios applies next-generation technology to the creative arts. Its first project is Carbon Rain: The Sky Answers.
Xionia Labs
Xionia Labs carries out research and development in artificial intelligence for every Xionia division. Its two research programmes are music and human creativity, and Xionia Intelligence, research into AI that understands how an instrument makes its sound.
Our founder
Xionia was founded by Stephen Ankelen, a hands-on technical director and senior developer with more than 30 years’ experience building production software. His background includes enterprise software engineering for aerospace, extensive work integrating AI into real-world systems, and a long history in music technology and audio engineering. He leads Xionia, designing and coding our products as part of a team of experienced senior developers.
